Leopoldo López

Leopoldo López is a Venezuelan freedom activist, who gained international recognition during his seven-year imprisonment from 2014 to 2020 for leading non-violent protests against the regime of Maduro. As a former mayor of the Municipality of Chacao in Caracas, he founded the political party Voluntad Popular and co-founded the World Liberty Congress, aimed at uniting pro-democracy activists globally. He holds degrees from Kenyon College and Harvard University, and has authored influential books like “Venezuela Energética” and “Preso pero Libre.” López continues to advocate for democracy.
