Activists and movements- many of them CANVAS partners- increasingly find themselves on the frontlines of evolving authoritarian use of AI.

As part of this initiative, CANVAS is:

Developing tailored curriculums, trainings, and toolkits based on direct input from activists, raising awareness of AI risks and protection strategies.
Creating opportunities for activists to engage with key stakeholders, sharing best practices and exploring emerging innovations. This includes at the upcoming People Power Academy, to be held at the University of Virginia in 2025, which will feature leading partners from around the world sharing insights and hosting workshops on cutting-edge advocacy tools.
Launching programs that delve into the evolving AI landscape and building AI tools for activists and movements.
